The market for collectible soundtrack CDs has changed considerably since the 1990's. With the advent and widespread use of CD-burning technologies, rare and limited-run score albums have reached their peak in value and have even begun to decline. With formerly rare scores either being re-released (such as Cherry 2000) or being spread around the secondary market in the form of CDr's (such as the Mulan promo), the price of genuine collectibles is generally decreasing. For recent promotional and regular score releases, however, there is still an active auction market. Whether you're looking for out of print commercial CDs, or Oscar promos from the most recent films, eBay and proven to be the only viable marketplace for such items. The good news for collectors is that eBay almost always benefits the buyers far more than the sellers, so your best selection of both rare and regular items is often also your least expensive. | |||||||||||||
