Concerning A.I., I would have to say that there were moments in the score that took the air right out of my lungs! In particular, the flying escape sequence above the mostly submerged city was a perfect marriage of imagery and music. John's ability to paint music in scenes like this simply can't be calculated. He's vast beyond belief. The movie itself was a maze of complex emotions and would have been an incredible challenge for any composer. Despite what some may say about the plot, one thing is certain, A.I. is an unforgettable movie.
