I disagree with your rating, but I certainly understand the rationale. Such suspense and horror writing can often be difficult to enjoy on album, even when one considers the medium. For me, the intelligence and creativity behind the writing is too enticing, save for its most ambient moments. It's the only horror score I've heard so far that I consider great (keep in mind I have heard few horror scores outside their films, not to mention I have seen very few horror films), mostly because it avoids the "let's jolt you!" slashing and grinding that regrettably defines most of the stock parts of the genre.

Then again, as I see it, one man's horror masterpiece is another man's auditory poison.
