It's all Horner's style. He "borrows" from himself quite a bit. If you go back even further, you'll hear many of Apollo 13 (and Titanic's) track sounding like stuff from The Rocketeer, and even Wrath of Kahn. Check this out: Listen to the very end of Wrath of Kahn (the credits music), and listen for that ascending chord progression. Now, listen to the Rocketeer (again, the credits) and listen again....it's the same! The progression can also be heard in Titanic, I believe the track is "Take her out" or whatever it is (CD not sitting in front of me). Horner sure likes that progression!
