William's recyles a lot of his material (and a mean a lot. Harry Potter steals so many different cues from other films it's unbelievable (then again so does the film :-) (can't call it up to a certain degree since other composers such as James Horner are guilty of self plagerism)
if someone else just re-used most of the original stuff i don't think anyone would notice.

Any date on when John Williams will be retiring?
