That's nonsense. ANH has arguably the best Star Wars score. Only replacing the old imperial theme is not a good idea either. If it ceases to exist there would be no good connection left with the battledroid music (note that they are very much alike). Indirectly, this droid army is the imperial army, as it was co-responsible for the imperial takeover.

This is also the reason why the battledroid fanfare was heard in it's full glory when Ben sees the clones (stormtroopers in spe) in AOTC.
