Track Allocation Question   Sunday, July 10, 2005 (10:45 a.m.)

Hi:
If somebody would, I'm looking for brief cue descriptions or titles that could better help appreciate the score. While unique, those bat title cues make it difficult to paint mental pictures while listening to them. Thank you.

Upon watching this movie several times, I can listen to the soundtrack and picture in my mind what's happening on screen. (Like I try to do with every movie and score I own.) But here's some track listings I made myself, ones that actually make a whole lot more sense than those silly bat species. (Yes, a novel idea Zimmer/Howard...but don't do it again. It's too damn confusing!) I apologize in advance for any spelling mistakes.

1. Vespertilio (Opening Logos/Finders Keepers/Journey To The Mountain)
2. Eptesicus (Ducard's Wisdom)
3. Myotis (Escaping The League/Return To Gotham)
4. Barbastella (Time of Mourning/Embracing The Bat)
5. Artibeus (First Encounter/His Sign)
6. Tadarida (The Narrows/Nightmare Relived)
7. Macrotus (The Waynes)
8. Antrozous (Backup At Arkham)
9. Nycteris (Into Arkham)
10. Molossus (Saving Rachel [Chase Through Gotham])
11. Corynorhinus (Rebuilding/The Beginning)
12. Lasiurus (End Suite) I don't think this one was in the movie, though.

Those track titles are to the best of my knowledge. I'll revise them once the DVD comes out and I have a chance to watch the movie all day, every day. Hope that helps.

Thank you! Your post was more than helpful. I've only seen the movie twice but am anxiously awaiting the DVD release. Sorry I haven't responded sooner but with all the pro/anti Zimmer posts, I gave up that my question would be answered. I'm going to print out your title tracks and keep them inside the jewel case. You were a very big help. Thank you again.

track eight: Antrozous. This is NOT "Backup at Arkham" but the (CLASSIC!) moment in the film before/during/after Batman stands up on the building and says "It's not who I am underneath, but what I do, that defines me".
