  Beloved Score


Its weird how different people react to a musical score. Beloved is my favorite Portman score - just edging out Joy Luck Club and Benny and Joon. It is sparse but evocative. It is haunting and beautiful - standing up with some of my favorite Mychael Danna scores. This is the kind of score I love to listen to: unusual and risk-taking.
