I don't know if it is sung in a specific language ( since Lesa Gerard's Now We are Free vocals weren't ), but it could be. I don't know.

Does anyone, please, could send me the lyrics of Gortoz A Ran?
I have the lyrics of “Now We Are Free“, from Gladiator, Lisa Gerrard & Hans Zimmer. If possible, send me the lyrics in breton language, no matter about translation.

The singer is Denez PRIGENT - it is Breton language -(celtic !), and the record you can listen to "Gortoz a ran" is "Irvi".

Re: Gortoz A Ran??   Monday, November 10, 2003 (3:18 p.m.)

Additionally,

"Gortoz a ran" translates in English as "I expect". Also, on the track, additional vocals are performed by Lisa Gerrard, formally of Dead Can Dance, who has also done work on numerous soundtracks including Gladiator, Whale Rider, Ali and many more.

Upon hearing the track on Blackhawk Down, I just had to hear more from Denez Prigent. It took a lot of searching, but I was able to find his CD "Irvi" in London. Throughout my search I was unable to locate the CD in America. The CD is WELL WORTH the price and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys "Gortoz a ran." If you have trouble finding the CD, please feel free to e-mail me.

Jay

Re: Gortoz A Ran??   Monday, April 5, 2004 (11:24 a.m.)

I have received a few e-mails from people asking where they could purchase the Denez Prigent CD ("Irvi") containing the song Gortoz A Ran. First, that individual song can be found on the easily-accessible "Blackhawk Down" soundtrack CD. However, the full Denez Prigent CD (which is well worth the price and the time I spent finding it) can be found at: www.101cd.com. Additionally, it also contains a variation of Gortoz A Ran that can not be found on the Blackhawk Down soundtrack.

As of this post, the CD was selling for $13.99 British pounds and I think I paid a total of $16.99 British pounds when I purchased it (including shipping to the United States).

Hope this helps.

Jay

Denez Prigent is the male voice. The female is Lisa Gerrard, formerly of Dead Can Dance, and now a solo artist. Dead Can Dance's CD's are all readily accessible (although usually not in big box retailers), as are Lisa Gerrards'. Lisa has also done quite a bit of soundtrack work, including Gladiator (FANTASTIC soundtrack), Whale Rider, Ali, and much more. Try just about any online retailer for Dead Can Dance or Lisa Gerrard CD's.
