Hasan Abood's life began on September 9, 1987, in Baghdad, Iraq. For three years, he spent an unforgettable childhood, filled with happiness but in 1990, just like all the Iraqi citizens, he witnessed the Gulf War. Even though at that time, he didn't know what war meant for him, but when he reached the appropriate age, he learned that everything happens for a reason and that his life is meant to be special. At the age of five, he stood in front of the television while watching the Godfather, imitating Marlon Brando's performance. His grandmother turned to his mother and told her something like, "This boy's got a real talent. He's going to be famous someday." His mother laughed that off, reassuring her that he will either be a doctor or an engineer. Luckily, Hasan's career path was nowhere close to these two.

1998 marked a big change in Hasan's life when he and his family emigrated from Baghdad to Vancouver, Canada. It opened a lot of doors for Hasan as he experiment with drama and acting in high-school. Also, since English was one of his favorite subjects in school, he loved reading and writing. After adapting a novel into a short film (writing it, directing it and even acting in it), Hasan approached his father and told him these words, "Dad, I want to be a screenwriter." Hasan expected the worst reaction from his father, but instead his father just gave him a supportive hug.

Since that day, Hasan has been working hard to fulfill his dreams. In December 2008, he graduated from the Writing for Film and Television Program at Vancouver Film School. Hasan hopes to work in the film industry, continue writing character-dramas with powerful messages, thrillers and adventures, seeing his projects on the silver screen, making his parents and loved ones proud.

He is passionate about film music and some of his favorite composers are: Alexandre Desplat, Joe Hisaishi, Gabriel Yared, Mychael Danna, John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, Ryuichi Sakamoto and from Egypt, Yasser Abdel Rahman.

I've been happily engaged to Tarn Khare and we will be getting married July of next year. Also, my novel God in Pink is now published and available at a bookstore near you.
