IMHO I think we can't and should not compare Phil Collins' works on Tarzan and Brother Bear. Because to start with, they are completely different artworks. Tarzan deals with "wild" "raw" "power", while Brother Bear deals with softer, warmer tone, perhaps bit melancholy emotion of "brother", "family", "guilt", "lost". We're most likely would not get what we wanted if we put Tarzan music in our head while listening to BB. And I believe it would also happen the other way around. I think that's also the reason many movie critics gave harsh reviews on the movie. Because they had their minds loaded with what they "expected".
If I may give a suggestion to enjoy the soundtrack and movie...just sit back, leave all thoughts and if I may borrow the lyrics from the soundtrack "Come with me...I'll take you there..."

I enjoyed the the soundtrack (All great songs, rich score)
"Look Through My Eyes" is a fabolous single, really love the cinematic feel.
"No Way Out" beautiful. I really like the movie rendition, touching.
"Welcome", Unconciously I was tapping my feet in the theater, first time heard it too.
"On My Way", sticking like glue. Great performance and orchestration too.
"Great Spirits", "Transformation"(brings me chills) both are top musics & performances.

If you get the soundtrack from Best Buy and I think Disney Store too, you
will get a bonus track Phil's performance of "Great Spirits".
It has deeper orchestration, very cinematics, brings chills on some part. Whew!

I really enjoyed it.
