A soundtrack for a tv show

As pointed out in your review, "The Clone Wars" movie is actually the pilot episode for the successful animated series now entering its second season. As such, the soundtrack works in that context. On the whole, I agree with the general statements listed in the review, I would actually give the album a 2.5-star rating or (if feeling extremely generous) a 3-star rating. What really makes the album work are the themes mentioned in the review above as well as the use of electric percussion for the droid armies of the Seperatists. While certainly not up to the standards of John Williams' scores for "Star Wars, Episodes I-VI" or even Joel McNeely's "Shadows of the Empire", the score can still entertain and is fairly diverting.
