I rather enjoy this score. True, it is pretty chaotic, but it is a unique sound from the earlier years of Horner. Unique in that no one else was using the kettle drums in that fashion as much as he. This is a good companion piece to Gorky Park, 48 Hours (which also needs a release) and Red Heat. He doesn't make music like this anymore (some say Thank God, I say otherwise) with the heavy brass hits and his "Russian Theme" (I believe started in Gorky Park) which ended up in all manner of scores. Maybe I'm damning him with faint praise, but with all the self-reference, he has created his own genre. It's Horner. You either like him or ya don't.

I like him.
