All the Film Music Reviewers are too hard with the poor Revell, this albun is not a masterpiece, but works great in the film and the CD is enjoyable. The Daredevuk theme is good!.The Reviewers are not equitative...example:Four Stars for the mediocre "The Sum of All Fears" and only two for Daredevil.

Just remember, Mr. Clemmensen likes his music mainstream and easy to grasp. I think Revell's just too avant-garde for him. Oh well.

I think this score in particular is a victim of expectations. If you go into a movie expecting something great, and it turns out to be only good, then you are disappointed. However, if you go into the same film expecting it to suck, and its good (but not great), then you are pleasantly surprised. In other words, our expectations can impact how we react to something. I think with "Daredevil" having been billed as a "dark superhero movie" with a score by the composer of the very popular "The Crow", we were expecting something a little more grand, with exciting action cues and a memorable main theme. What we got was a more introspective score that was light on action and bombast. Ultimately, taken solely on its own merit, I think its a good, but far from great, score. Revell fans will surely eat it up, but others may be disappointed simply because its not what they wanted or expected.

Oh yeah. I do agree Mr. Clemmensen definitely has a preference for more classically-oriented music. Lately, I do feel he has been doing better at putting an effort into actually listening to other styles, instead of simply rating them as "frisbee" the first time he hears a drum loop or sound effect. (Now, if we can just get him to re-evaluate T2... )

It's not even just non-orchestral music. He really doesn't like Goldenthal, either. But I do have to admit, that Revell (and Goldenthal) are acquired listens, and you have to listen with a very open mind.

Ugh, I hate Terminator.......

I guess I'm gonna go read that review to see if I agree w/ him or not.....

Clemmensen gave positive ratings to The Saint, Red Planet, and The Negotiator.

You must agree that Tomb Raider was terrible. Even Revell says so.

I wouldn't exactly call 3 stars a "Positive" rating. 4, yes. So, IMO, The Saint (and Out of Time now) are the only Revell scores with truly positive ratings. I wonder what he'd think of The Crow.......

I can not dispute that fact of course
