I too love the main theme, and I'm still humming it several weeks after first getting the score. It's quite uplifting, as you say, and expansive, giving a sense of bleakness but with some hope.

Is it me, or does the reviewer find it hard to recognise good themes? He also fails to spot the theme in Saving Private Ryan which I find just as memorable as this one.
