Comments about the soundtrack for Die Another Day (David Arnold)

first of all i know i spelt deshavu wrong! lol!
and secondly, this score and theme is becomeing quite controversial (im not saying tina tuners theme sucked, it rocked) but i remember distinctly in james bond history that goldeneyes cutting edge new sound score was very controversial, you "CLASSIC LOVERS" didnt like it, where as the "new age generation" loved it!, its sound was differant, wierd, and new and it worked with the theme of the movie

die another day is the same. david arnold has gone for the new, wierd, differant approach and most of you "classic lovers" dont like it where as some of us "new age generation" love it! its quite funny listening to you all start differant little wars about the score. all i will say is

maddonnas theme is a new twist on things (you have to admit but its true) it also has given the film a larger scale of publicity... for the first time, my friends told me they DIDNT think the movie and music of this one were gay
the tital song i fell works great with the titles. and the rest of the score works just as well.

all i can say now is, its been interesting and fun reading the arguments over the weeks... this is proberbly going to be the new "goldeneye score" in bond history, controversial and i LOVE IT!!!

I think all the scores since "The Living Daylights" are great (With the exception of "License to Kill", but I say this anyway for the last song on the album, which is awesome and ironically has the best version of the James Bond Theme). I must say the David Arnold songs on this CD are great and second best in the series (The other two songs are barely ok, but ok). I am probably not going to make many friends with my next statment, but Eric Serra's Goldeneye music, while it might not fit the film well, is best. I can see why he was not rehired, but Goldeneye is my favorite of all time, and now Eric Serra is my favorite artist. David Arnold's score is the best of both worlds. It fits the film very well (when explosions block out some effects) and is awesome on album (With the effects). This Die Another Day score makes an awersome CD and is my second favorite. Although I do not care for the slow songs (I listen to plenty, I am not just being ignorant) are not good, but the action songs more than make up for it, such as tracks 12, 11, 4, 3, and 13 from best to slightly less than best in my opinion. Others are good, but those are awesome.

I am willing to bet that, maybe because of TND, David Arnold will return, even though this score is similar to Goldeneye. Admit, some songs in Goldeneye fit the movie impeccably (tracks 2, 9, 13) and others well (All the slow ones). Eric Serra would still be in the Bond series if he used some "Barry Bond Theme" and scored a scene or two differently. The score has hints of the Bond theme that, while extremely cool, are not obvious. I am interseted in hearing some responses from people who like Die Another Day and not the Goldeneye score and why, or from anyone who does not like either or both.

Hey Dude I understand perfectly, the first time I saw "GoldenEye" I loved the score, I bought the Cd real fast. When it came in the mail I ran to my CD player and put it in listened to the "Goldeneye Overture" I loved it, then I look at the back for the track I really wanted to hear, "A Peasent Ride in St Petersberg", I put the track on and I got some screwy techno bullcrap. If your like me you heard(in the score not the cd) the Bond theme played when Bond leaves the airport, or when Bond escapes the helicopter, or the gunbarrel, many pieces are not on the soundtrack and the those that made the remastered CDs should have done a better job put the cues on the new CD. Now to David Arnold, no problems, if you asked me what 3 scores were my favorite I would say Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day, And The World is Not Enough.
