As far as I know it's a cue from John Scott's "Man on Fire", another score that was temp-tracked for Die Hard and ulimately stayed in the final cut of the film. For years (when my film music knowledge was very little, I mean very...) I thought it's Kamen's original music. Usually I'm all against any temp-tracking, but in the case of Die Hard the cues of already existing material work wonders in the film.
