I said once that I Chicken Run was a bit to dramtic for the type of film that it was. But now John Powell has returned to the wild and wacky ways that made Antz such a blast to listen to with evolution. The movie was funny and smart and those aspects are represented on the score. The main theme almost sounds like Powell combined the two main themes from Antz (The Colony theme) and the main theme from Chicken Run. I'd have to disagree with the review when it was said that the theme from Evolution is herd in track 2. The main theme is first heard in track 6.
Powell did make use of the one element that I trully loved in Chicken Run. He created another great BAD GUY THEME. It is heard in tack 5. The Mall Chase is the best track on the album. Powell returns in the pure fun of a score.
By the by, I hope the release a full score version of Sherk, the track on the stupid song album (aside from eddie murphy singing I Believe) is good (great) but the bad part of it is that it leaves you wanting more, and there is no more.
