A Czechoslovakian whose films include Hair, The People vs. Larry Flint, Ragtime, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Clearly, he understands American culture and has made and some of his characters are icons of an era. Oh, did I mention he comes from a former communist country?
