I can't believe that this score isn't even as big as Hook or something like that. This is one of the most beautiful scores I've ever heard. It's got some great Irish flavor to it.
The soundtrack to this Cruise/Kidman movie is nothing like a Days of Thunder type soundtrack. Tracks #3 are my favorites. Track #6 takes off at a furios pace, and it is great.
On the CD set John Williams Greatest Hits 1969-1999 they re-record track #6 with a Violin. I personally like that version better.
And this album features Enya back in her glory days singing Book of Days.(track #18) You see, Howard Shore wasn't the first one to use her in a soundtrack!(Lord of the Rings) John Williams used her 9 years earlier!
