Thomas Newman is my hero   Thursday, May 29, 2003 (5:44 p.m.)

The score is brilliant, like all of his other works. But , out of the 39 songs on the score for Finding Nemo, I cannot find the one used in the preview for the movie. The one with the little light at the beggining. Anyone know what it is, I love it!
Thanks
ABE

Actually it's pretty common for trailers NOT to feature music from the movie score. There are composers hired just to compose trailer music believe it or not. Which I don't quite understand. I presume it's because movie trailers normally feature bombastic, exciting cues (to get you pumped to see the movie?) and if the movie score doesn't have any... then someone's hired to write some.

Sometimes they use music/score from other movies for the trailers, so it migh not even be composed by Thomas Newman!!

Ya but i have been a fan of Thomas Newmans music for years. Ive been studying film now for several years as well. I can tell when it one of very many composers-John Williams danny elfman don davis michael kamen, alan silvestri, john murphy, bill conti hans zimmer etc. Newman has a very distinctive sound, and this song is def def his, i love the nemo score, not as much as others hes done, but i would really like to find the trailer song.
Thanks,
ABE
