Bombastic and fantastic, but unnecessary to compare with Conan

All of Basil Poledouris' music contain fresh and original music from his pen,so this soundtrack is unnecessary to be compared with Conan or any other of his scores. The only similarity is that both music is written for a fantasy movie, but that' s all. There are two types of music contained on this album:one type is heroic, bombastic, but, unlike Conan, contain not so many elements of brutal and loud music.Instead, there are a lot of folk music and music from various middle age music contained within those tracks to illustrate the period where the film' s story take place - check out the tracks Castle Invasion and Siege Of The City as examples. The second type of tracks is gentle and soft, and slightly sad - check out Night Fires, and Martin And Agnes as examples.Overall, this soundtrack contains music which is different from the music of the Conan movies, and instead,it contains a lot of ethnic and middle age music elements - but nonetheless, highly enjoyable.
