I had heard in an interview with Lisa Gerrard that the lyrics were sanskrit - like the lyrics to Duel of the Fates. Could be wrong but sanskrit is a cuneiform language that predates egyptian and greek therefore there should be some similarities to the languages. I find it hard to believe that Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard would have based an entire score on nonsense words. I also listen to Dead Can Dance (Lisa Gerrard is a member) and all the songs have real words.
