Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the GL score, and couldn't help notice that Stuart Baird, director of Executive Decision, edited Green Lantern. Now I'm just guessing here, but I imagine Baird used Goldsmith's The Map from Exec Decision as temp music for the opening titles and James Newton Howard, bored by the whole endeavor, just aped it in the most robotic, uninspired manner possible. Usually, JNH gives a good show no matter how lackluster the movie. (Snow Falling On Cedars, Lady In the Water for example) but I guess he's too busy or burnt out. Or just saw the rough cut of the film and said, "Well, if they're not going to try, why should I?" I can't think of a more under-achieving film of that scope.
