Its new.......Vide Cor Meum   Sunday, July 1, 2001 (3:11 a.m.)

Vide Cor Meum (by Patrick Cassady) (4.20)
A fitting end to the album, this newly-composed operatic aria, with a libretto taken from Dante, features rapturous solo parts for soprano and baritone, aptly sung by Danielle De Niese and Bruno Lazzaretti, as well as a lush choral accompaniment. The track's finale contains a ferocious orchestral stinger and a startling farewell from Anthony Hopkins.

Vide cor meum: lyrics and score   Thursday, July 26, 2001 (3:51 a.m.)

Hello guys,
I am an italian musician and it happened that I read Dante's "La vita Nuova" opera from which lyrics have been taken for the excellent "Vide cor meum" track.

For your convenience here below you can find what i think it can be the chorus and singers original track words. Actually, Dante's words are not just exactly in the same order as in Cassidy's libretto. Anyway, I am going to get the score of the track too and whoever could be interested on getting it can ask me to send it by e-mail.
--- Vide Cor Meum --- ("Here you is my heart")
Chorus:
"E pensando di lei mi sopraggiunse uno soave sonno"
Soprano:
"Ego dominus tuus"
"Vide cor tuum"
Tenor:
"e d'esto core ardendo"
Chorus:
"Vide cor tuum"
Soprano:
"Cor tuum"
Chorus & Tenor:
"umilmente pascea"
Soprano:
"appresso gir lo ne vedea piangendo"
Tenor:
"la letizia si convertia in amarissimo pianto"
Soprano:
"Io sono in pace"
Chorus & tenor:
"Cor meum"
Soprano:
"Io sono in pace"
Tenor:
"Vide cor meum"
Chorus:
"Vide cor meum"
Tenor:
"Cor tuum"
Chorus:
"Cor tuum"

Ciao

Is it just me or does Hans Zimmer use this word in most of his score. It is Latin and as far as I know it means "Armed". What's the deal? Anyone else noticed this?

Shawn :/

I think the startling Ta Ta from Anthony Hopkins spoils the beauty of this wonderful aria which moves my every senses. It is so moving and so deep, I can never tire of it.
