In fact... the film is a french movie... and in Europe the score was composed by Bruno Coulais.

Eidelman had to score the US version as Bill Conti did for THE BIG BLUE (Serra did the score for Europe).

Yes, I agree with you but Bruno Coulais's version is deeply better than Eidelman's one, for sure !

I still don't understand why some films are reorchestrated for the USA ...

Come on...i've watched the french version of the movie and Bruno Coulais's score sucks! i mean it sucks big time! it's uninterresting and ssssslooooooooowwwwww! the other score is much more beautful!
