Why do we need to hear this? We don't.......but not everyone owns either of the HOME ALONE albums. If you listen to the album and judge it by it's score, it's a 5 star effort, easily.

So you must be a 5-STAR Horner fan....

I quite agree with filmtracks' review. I think HOME ALONE 2 is a good score, but almost as an extension of the first. This 2 CD DE LUXE edition (that argument about the correction of the tape speed sounds stupid) is a waste of sapce and time. We all already know which scores would GREATLY benefit from such an "expansion"... Honestly, HOME ALONE 2 wasnt one of them.

Yeah, it isn't really... I want a deluxe edition of the *first* score, myself. However, with that not anywhere in the cards, this is as good a release as any. I think three stars just about does it.

Really.......come on!

Mr. Clemmensen reserves the 5-star rating for truly great scores like Star Trek VI, Frida, etc. So what you might think is a 5-star score in Mr. Clemmensen's mind is a 4-star score. And, you're no doubt a Williams fan that thinks that every score should be 5 stars. Since Mr. Clemmensen judges more fairly, I'm sure his rating is fairer than yours.

Why does Varese re-release scores like this when there are so many others that could use it?

That's not to say I can't have my own opinion, which I do. And in my OPINION, it's a 5-star effort. Feel free to disagre with me, but don't say that I'm wrong.

Actually no, I don't think all of his scores are 5 stars, or 4 stars, or 3 stars, or 2. I think they should each be judged separately (unless it's a specific trilogy, who's purpose is much larger than a single score).

So many people try to get bootlegs and promos of everything nowadays, I commend Varese on releasing the entire score (which is superior to that of the first movie's score, in my opinion - obviously someone ELSE thought that too).
