I listened to HOS&F three times today. And the more I listen, the more I find I love it. It reminds me of To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, only not with as many "pretty" outbursts from the orchestra. I love "Gillian", it's one of my favorite Horner scores. However, both these scores are sparce and use the same orchestration used in countless other scores. So why do I love them? Does anyone else feel this way? I think HOS&F should replace Cold Mountain in the Best Score cattagory at the Golden Globes. Maybe it will replace it at the Oscars!
