I did ponder at the "G" rating, but the story is incredibly toned down, not just from the original film, but from the book where Phoebus is one of *those* guys and Esmeralda is hanged...and Quasimodo dies clinging to her corpse in a tomb. The Disney film is now my all-time favorite movie (be it Disney or not) for all the wonderful aspects it incorporates. Disney really did do an EXCELLENT job with this one :-)
