Varese has been pretty long for years. It just depends on how much the composer is willing to shell out. Urban Legends: Final Cut, which was released way back in 2000, was over 70 minutes long, but that was mostly due to the fact that the score was recorded in Germany. Also, scores recorded in Washington state (The Watcher, 13 Ghosts) were over an hour long too, and those were back in 2000 and 2001 respectively. As for scores recorded everywhere else, like Sony scoring stage, Newman stage and Todd A0, i suppose the Orchestra union rules are affecting them as well. However, alot of other record labels tend to have short scores too, so I don't think Varese is the only violator.
