I think he is pretty consistent - consistently bad. The sooner he stop mixing music, the better for everyone else. His muddy mix is consistently the worst part of all of Giacchino's scores, and many of them easily lose a star simply because of the awful mix. Super 8 and MI: Ghost Protocol suffer the worst, but It's noticeable in everything he does... lately. His earlier work didn't suffer the same problems. I really wonder if his hearing is just failing him. It's certainly failing the rest of us.
