I regretted not seeing this in theaters, but I stumbled upon this on Netflix later and I gotta tell ya... I was blown away by it! Aside from it's predictable story and it's mediocre dialog, I think that this sequel is a huge improvement over it's predecesor (which was flawed, but also pretty good), but this music is the strongest aspect of the movie itself. Andrew Lockington did such a fantastic job on his music writing. It has a mixture of light and dark and it's orchestra is breezy and beautiful. Some of the tracks are pretty good, but myy favorite tracks are "Bee Chase", "The Nautilus Escape" & "Sean's Birthday" which gives an epic tone to the soundtrack.

All I gotta say to ya, Andrew Lockington, is, make more of these types of music and you'll a successful career in history after your work on City of Ember.

Rating: ***** out of *****
