I agree that the Pirates of the Caribbean score is amazing, but I don't agree that it's Badelt's best. While it certainly is the most action oriented score he's written and certainly boasts that fact, I still find his score to The Time Machine to be his best. That is a truly moving score with a great blend of symphonic and electronic scoring with some absolutely amazing themes. My favourite cue on that album and that Badelt has written is in Track 13-The Master starting at 1:27 until the end. I remember not really being much of a film music buff, kind of just tuning it out being a teenager and all, and when I sat in the cinema and heard that piece my heart broke. It really accentuated that scene of a lost life so much so that I almost cried....now that's scary.

Not only that cue though, the entire album is a masterpiece. Truly if your a fan of Badelt get that score. It's amazing, but if you are really looking for another Pirates bit then The Time Machine won't really help you. But you're absolutely right, I'd certainly higher Klaus Badelt to score my films.
