I don't get the soundtrack criticism

Ladyhawke is my favorite movie of all time and I think the soundtrack is wonderfully appropriate. I cannot imagine that any other scoring would have been better. You know, I heard cricitism like this about the Red Apple restaurant in Leesburg, VA - that there were in effect, 'too many choices' on the buffet bars. Well, rather than being a detraction, having so many different Asian cuisines is a plus rather than minus. The only thing the owners are guilty of is trying to court as many types of palates as possible at the same time. I think it's the same thing with this soundtrack - it appeals to a wide audience as there's something for everyone. Let other artists, other movies satiate the desire for one continuous genre - I like my variety!
