Hello, and welcome to Dan's succinct description of himself. Dan was born in Illinois, but he moved to Wisconsin after only a few years of life. Interestingly enough, he was born at the same hospital as his current best friend (although he didn't meet him until several years later). He was taught how to drive in Wisconsin, so he doesn't drive like an Illiniosan (thank goodness!), and he calls it a bubbler instead of something retarded like a water fountain or drinking fountain. Dan is a born-again Christian and a music major who attends nondenominational churches. His primary instrument is trombone, but he also plays drumset, euphonium, piano, guitar, and he sings. Some of his hobbies include playing and listening to music, computer gaming, basketball, writing songs, reading, soccer, playing with his church worship team, watching TV (he is addicted to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Whose Line Is It Anyway?), making amateur movies, surfing the web, hanging out with friends, being outdoors, and shopping. He has been with his girlfriend for over 19 months now, and they are quite happy. Dan's favorite soundtracks, in order, are: Braveheart, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Prince of Egypt, The Land Before Time, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, E.T., Jurassic Park, Dragonheart, Anna and the King, and Jesus: The Epic Miniseries. His favorite movies, many of which share a spot in his soundtracks list (since Dan believes that much of what makes a good movie is the music), are: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Land Before Time, Braveheart, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Dragonheart, Star Trek: Generations, The Prince of Egypt, Jurassic Park, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and a three way tie for 10th by Oscar, The Matrix, and Enemy at the Gates.

Some other fun facts about Dan are that he has never broken a bone, he has read the entire Chronicles of Narnia series 7 times, he is well-read on the topic of evolution, he loves Pizza Hut pizza and Fazoli's ravioli and breadsticks (even though he's worked at the latter!), and his favorite color is red. He hopes to become a high school band director and eventually a college trombone professor, and he would love to play trombone professionally with a symphony orchestra. Dan advocates looking at individual soundtracks and judging them based on their own merit instead of drawing connections with other scores, and he believes that you cannot form a valid opinion about music until you hear it several times and allow it to penetrate your inner self.
