Well, no offence, but I think, like some other people, that the soundtrack of LOTR is a bit overrated. I appreciated the film very much, I think it is one of the greatest films ever made (under all the aspects), but in my opinion it could have deserved a better musical score. It works quite well, but it is not the kind of music that stands in your imagination for years after the release of the film. For example, I personally can't imagine any scene of Star Wars or E.T. separated from its music, which is, however, fantastic also to be listened to as a "pure" music piece. In the case of LOTR, I think that it's not the same thing. And I didn't like the partecipation of Enya, I fear that this will transform this score in a "full-commercial" thing, like Titanic with Celine Dion. In my opinion, John Williams would have scored it better. However, for Shore this is probably the first very important assignment, perhaps the soundtrack to the next film will be better!
