Awwww - I Love This Score!   Friday, April 9, 2010 (5:44 a.m.)

Yeah, it's goofy and disjointed, and not a particularly good straight-through listening experience. But, for me, the highlights are so fun, I'd definitely at least give it three stars.

My biggest compliment to the La-La Land Expanded release is that it gives a few more tracks with variations on the main Martian March theme, the best part of the score. So while adding 20 minutes to your Mars Attacks listening experience in total might not help it, if you're seeking to edit out the best 20-30 minutes from the whole score to make a 5-star listening experience, the best material beyond the Main Titles is on the La-La Land release!

I understand where CC is coming from on this one, but the sheer power of the Main Titles alone and the sheer fun of the lounge music are enough to make this one a recommendation for me, even if listeners never enjoy anything beyond those cues...
