It doesn't sound synthesized at all. I can't wait for the day that sample libraries sound even half as realistic and energetic as that recording. I don't really think it's badly recorded either.. they've deliberately gone for that jazzy/orchestra 60's sound with it.. It seems pretty obvious to me with the kit and the congas... Sounds good to me
