Aaron Zigman's score in The Notebook

I adamantly disagree with the opinion that "the Zigman score is both pleasant and nostalgic, but the jazz songs really do steal the show..."

In my opinion, the Zigman score is one of the most passionate, touching compositons I've ever heard (and I enjoy a wide range and variety of music). It seemed the perfect complement to the scenery and it stirred emotions in me that I hadn't felt in a long time - far beyond being "pleasant and nostalgic", it combines sensuality, passion, sentimentality and the sadness and torment that can accompany romantic love.
