Rebuttal, and the need for Angelina

I guess it takes all types of folks to make the world go 'round. Critics? Anyone who needs someone else to tell them what to like is already a loser, in my opinion.

I love this movie, I love the soundtrack especially, and I love Angelina Jolie too!

There's something lush about the music, it makes you feel the heat of Cuba, it makes you want to drink a cold alcoholic beverage, and watch the condensation run slowly down the side of the glass. You touch it with the tip of your finger, and bring it to your lips... or Angelina's, even better!

The plot, which you call into question, is absolutely a great plot. No, it's actually a plot within a plot, since the story begins with a woman in prison, talking to her confessor as he's preparing her for death.

"You cannot walk away from love"... is there any more compelling beginning to a romantic story? "This is not a love story, but it is a story about love"... and passion, obsession, and self-worth, and how they are all tied together in one's heart.

You critical types are trying to protect yourself from actually letting go and losing yourself in the story, which is the only way to enjoy this movie. You have to suspend reality... it's a MOVIE, by all the gods! It's not your real life, nor is any other movie you see! Get over it and relax - if you would allow yourself to have an imagination and stop worrying whether anyone else approves of it, you would see the beauty of this film. As if Angelina Jolie isn't beauty enough...
