First of all, I am a huge fan of film music and have a modest amount of soundtracks to my name. Without a doubt, though, The Patriot is one of the best I have heard in a long time. At first listen. I didn't think much of the main themes because no one theme really took the bait. The whole score is basically based on primary chord progressions and that usually is a turn off for me. But after doing some research , I found out that John Williams was in the Air Force before he ever became a composer. This really adds to the emotional feelings of pride and amazement of our country that show through on The Patriot. I would highly recommend this score to any fan of film music.
