I think this is a brilliant film score, the main theme in particular suits the film perfectly, and changes from a solo violin to an Orchestra without the orchestra seem as though it is intruding. Although the themes could be considered a bit repetitive, I think it's important for main themes to be used frequently because they help to give the film it's "sound." As long as the theme isn't repeated on the same instrument, it can be very effective. However, like most John Williams scores for action films, they sound quite simlar. "Tavingtons Trap" does sound similar to The Lost World's "Visitor in San Diego" But the music effectively builds up tension and therefore does its job, so what does it matter? 8/10

Even though Williams has composed similar pieces, at least he doesn't bombard almost every score with signature accents ala James Horner. After listening to the same four-note trumpet run in Willow, Wrath of Khan, and (ridiculously so) Enemy at the Gates, I'm about to write the guy off. But then along comes something like The Rocketeer (or even Titanic) and I stick around a little longer.
