Here's another one who agrees with you, Alex. This Hans Zimmer is one of the most overrated composers in Hollywood. I wouldn't say people who like his music are stupid, but musically seen they're simple minded. Williams' music is far more complex (counterpoint!), his themes are absolutely better constructed and how he makes use of it throughout his scores is far better considered than Zimmer does. Zimmer's music is just some everlasting, unsubtle synthesizer imitation (and besides always the same), wich sounds good superficially but is really stutifying at last. I have much more respect for some underrated symphonic composers like Alan Silvestri or Don Davis.
