I love Pirates of the Carribean (the movie). I have to admit, I am not entirely adverse to the soundtrack, either.
But (and I know this is quite late in the game) I heard the "Gladiator" soundtrack for the first time today and I was surprised and annoyed to hear a great theme from the track "The Battle" (it begins at around the six minutes and ends at the six minutes, fifteen seconds mark) that sounds exactly the same as the main theme from "Pirates of the Carribean."
Which of course, only means that in a feat of desperation- or realizing it was just a pretty damn good theme that they didn't have a chance to sufficiently expand upon in "Gladiator"- Badelt and Zimmer ripped the theme from "Battle" for "Pirates of the Carribean.
I expected more from them (or at least more from Hans).
All right, done with my rant.
