Hush now, my baby
Be still love, donít cry
Sleep like youíre rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember
My lullaby
And Iíll be with you when you dream

Drift on a river
That flows through my arms
Drift as Iím singing to you
I see you smiling
So peaceful and calm
And holding you, Iím smiling, too
Here in my arms
Safe from all harm
Holding you, Iím smiling, too

Hush now, my baby
Be still, love, donít cry
Sleep like youíre rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember this river lullaby
And Iíll be with you when you dream
Iíll be with you when you dream

Those weren't the lyrics I think they were looking for. Those are the lyrics to River Lullaby, the Amy Grant lyrics anyway.

On a seperate note, does anyone know what lyrics they actually use in the movie? The ones I've found are different. I saw the movie on tv, guess I'll have to rent it to find out. The first verse in the movie is the same, but there is a second and third.

The second goes something like:
River, Oh river
flow gently for me
what precious cargo you bear....

And the third is actually the little sister (Miriam) singing:
Brother, Oh brother
safe may you be
I've got a prayer just for you....

Anyone know the rest? Please e-mail me

That's the lyrics to River Lullaby. The River lyrics and River Lullaby aren't the same. I don't know all of the lyrics to The River but here's some:
River flow through the depts of my soul
save my son from harm and danger
oh It's killing me still i gotta let'im go
Trust in you cause you're not a stranger oh
River that's brought us this joy now save my inoccent boy
I'll be forever in your debt
I won't forget
Oh i'm talking to the River
I know you're able to deliver
won't you take him with you river
take care of him that's my heart he's my heart
Familer friend it's your hand that he's in
Carry him with blessed asurannce oh
Don't let him go til you know that he's safe
I pray to God the father for amazing grace
I'm talking to the river
I know you're able to deliver
won't you take him with you river
take care of him that's my heart my heart

That's all that i can remember. Hope it helps.
Steph

Thank You! Finally someone understands the difference between the two songs! "The River" is the one I wanted (not River Lullaby - the one that starts with 'be still') - finally! Thanks!

Hope this helps;
Freedom lyrics:

Every dawn becomes a new day
A time to love, a time to cry
Every river knows its own way
And itís the same for you and I
Every heart must have a reason
A winding road, a midnight fly

Freedom, Freedom
What we all need is
Freedom in our hearts
Freedom, Freedom
What we all need is
Freedom in our hearts

They fight and die defending honor
The pride and prejudice we hide
A motherís tears, a fatherís anger
For time to stop the pain and lies
So we pretend to long for answers
I blame you and you blame me
All we really need isÖ

(REPEAT CHORUS)

We donít need the pain anymore
To move our mountains, reach our shores
What I have found is the choice I need
I can do Ė
Let freedom ring

Freedom, Freedom
What we all need is
Freedom in our hearts
Freedom from the darkness
Freedom from the violence
Freedom from the hate
Freedom from the fear
Freedom from the hunger
Freedom from ( . . . )

(REPEAT CHORUS)

> hey!! do have the lyrics to freedom on that cd?? i really need those too,
> please!!!!!:D

• Now Playing: Deliver US

I found the actual Lyrics when like everyone else was searching, the problem is that I had searched under the wrong tittle like the river, when the titla was really "Deliver us." So for all those loooking for "The River" here they are:(the actual river part is further down so walla)
Egyptian Guards:

Mud...
Sand...
Water....
Straw....
Faster!
Mud...
And lift....
Sand...
And pull
Water...
And raise up...
Sraw...
Faster!

(Slaves)

With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high
Can you hear your people cry:
Help us now
This dark hour....

DELIVER US
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land

(Yocheved)

Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
Al i-ra veh al tif-chad
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us

(Slaves)

DELIVER US
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us
Out of bondage and
Deleiver us to the promised land...

(Yocheved)

Hush now my baby
Be still, love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember
My last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream

River, o river
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
he can live free?
River, deliver him there...

(Young Miriam)
Brother, you're safe now
And safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you:
Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us too...

(Slaves)

Deliver us
Send a sheperd to sheperd us
And deliver us to the promised land
Deliver us to the promised land

(Yocheved)

Deliver Us!
