Comments about the soundtrack for Red Dragon (Danny Elfman)

Not normally an Elfman fan, but...

This wasn't a score I was looking forward to because I had heard all the bad press. Yet, when I heard it in the film it grabbed me and it sounded even better on the CD. I'm not usually into Elfman that much, and I may even be bucking the opinion here, but I think Red Dragon is one of the best scores of the year. It isn't as good as Zimmer's for "Hannibal," but it is a near miss.
