This particular soundtrack may sounds very dull and lacklustre, but i would like to say one thing to the listeners that this not soundtrack where he previously composed for the movies like JURASSIC PARK,THE LOST WORLD or E.T. This one totally written for portraying the life of soldiers.I liked saving private ryan much because it is very heart touching and melodious.Someone said that it was composed at low-key factor, but i do not care about it. Eventually, it is really a very good score. One should not doubt or critize John's work blindly. Before critizing, they should listen to the score album not one or two times, more than that.It is really superb.
