Did we see the same movie?
Did we hear the same score?
Did you read Joss Wheadon's liner notes on the CD?

The Serenity movie is a cultural mash-up.
Newman's score perfectly nailed the feel of the film.

In the liner notes of the CD Joss Wheadon said he wanted "everything".

David Newman gave it to him.. and then some.

I saw an advance screening of the film without Newman's score.
Newman elevated this film 200%.
