An excellent score   Monday, August 14, 2006 (10:12 a.m.)

This score is written for a horror film,so it is dark and haunting in general, and one of the most famous scores ever written by Elfman. There are a certain number of interesting orchestral solutions in it:the haunting women and men choir, the brasses, the pipe organ, virtouse, yet dark string play and even xilofon in parts, not the mention the rather bombastic percussion. The choir itself is worthy to analize:it is haunting and beautiful at the same time to illustrate the love of Icabod Crane and his love and to illustrate the fear that was felt by the people. In addition, there are a number of extremely exciting and well-composed action cues such as the Windmill,Church Battle,Masbath' s Terrible Death,The Chase and The Final Confrontation.Evil Eye and Love Lost as well as More Dreams are haunting and suspenseful, filled with brooding darkness and fear.In general,I recommend this score to anyone, who like horror scores composed with symphonic orchestra.

Definitely! I think Sleepy Hollow is a great score not only because it's an amazing listen, but becaue it works on album as well as in the movie, unlike many horror scores.
