I'd have to strongly disagree and give this "score" a thumbs up. Yes it's mindless, monotony in places but there are the odd decent theme (notably 'Intriguing Possibilities'). Certainly not a frisbee either way.

I'm also equally glad and disappointed that it won the Oscar. Glad as it was a (albeit minor) risk taken for once by such a usually dull, unchanged flannel of committee members' standard weak decisions (apart from best Director did nobody else predict the winners weeks in advance?) But also disappointed as I agree that both Powell's HTTY Dragon (robbed) and Zimmer's Inception were far more worthy contenders. But I guess the Academy are more comfortable taking risks in Original Score than any other category.
